Meet our board
Benn brings a varied background to the TEC board. He has worked across varying industries and this marks his first time on the board of a non-profit. Benn studied at Curtin University, graduating with a double degree in Marketing and Internet Communications. Since then he worked for local Vic Park coffee roaster's Antz Inya Pantz, in a leadership capacity, contributing to the business development and strategic direction of the company.
Most recently he has moved to BidWrite as a bid consultant, where no two jobs or client's are the same. Benn is excited that he can give back to the West Australian community through his work with TEC and looks forward to contributing to the growth of the organisation.
Annabel Purt is an Oxford Graduate, Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor. Annabel’s current roles consist of working with the Accounting and Finance Units for Online Education Services and also as an Advisor in her family's Assurance business, A&P Advisory.
Annabel is excited to fulfil her to desire to engage with the Community and help others, through her role as Treasurer of The Essentials Collective.
Vicky has over 15 years’ business and communications experience in both the private and public sector. For the last eight years, Vicky has been worked in the not for profit space in WA, managing integrated customer focused marketing campaigns and not for profit business development.
Vicky has seen first-hand the difference that organisations like The Essentials Collective make to those doing it tough and how local collaborations can have a huge impact on communities; and is excited to be able to put her experience into action
Founder & ChairPerson
Lenny is the Founder of Essentials for Women and the Executive Director of The Essentials Collective Inc, the overarching organisation behind Essentials for Women.
Lenny is a mother of two young children and a registered nurse working in the public health system in WA for over 10 years. She is passionate about women’s rights and helping others less fortunate than her. She hopes to instil this passion in her children.
Travis is the brains behind the new and exciting Buffalo. After working for 7 years at a consulting firm, running the business as Managing Director, Travis started Buffalo with a deep belief that there can be a space for conscious, leadership driven organisations. Places we’d all love to work with a real purpose.
Travis holds a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact and an MBA from UWA, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course and is Chairman of the Integral Leadership Institute.
Alana Schwartz is a solicitor at Jackson McDonald in the Corporate and Commercial team, working closely with Aboriginal Corporations and Not-for-Profit organisations. In this role, Alana works with boards and management committees on a day to day basis and has a strong governance focus.
Alana has always been passionate about engaging with the community and has been involved in the sector in a voluntary capacity since she was a young teenager.
